The station is powered by a LA CROSSE WS2308 weather station. The data is collected every 8 seconds and the site is updated every 2 minutes. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.

About This City

Carmignano is a comune (municipality) of c. 12,000 inhabitants in the province of Prato, part of the Italian region Tuscany. It is located about 20 km west of Florence and about 10 km southwest of Prato Carmignano borders the following municipalities: Capraia e Limite, Lastra a Signa, Montelupo Fiorentino, Poggio a Caiano, Prato, Quarrata, Signa, Vinci.

The most important attraction of the town is the church of San Michele e Francesco (12th century), which houses a Visitation by the Renaissance master Pontormo. The 10th century Rocca (Castle), in the upper part of the town, is well preserved. The frazione of Comeana is home to several Etruscan tombs (such as the Tumulus of Montefortini), while at Artimino is a Medicean Villa.

Geographical position

This weather station is located at 43° 48′ 15″ Latitude (43.804429 North) North and 11° 1′ 40″ Longitude (11.027484 East) East about 525ft. above sea level in the north-west of Florence, Tuscany area.
